General Description
This data collection contains the numerical results of the Gamma-ray sky reconstructions discussed in the above-mentioned paper. The results of the reconstructions based on models M1 and M2 are stored in separate ZIP archives.
For each reconstruction (M1, M2) and sky component I^c (see Fig. A.1 for the model graph), we provide the following data products:
- the reconstructed posterior samples of I^c_ij
- posterior sample means and sample standard deviations of I^c_ij
All maps are given in units of 1/(s m² sr) and are contained in HDF5 files named after the components, following the naming conventions in the paper. Each HDF5 file contains the data groups 'samples' and 'stats', with the former containing the posterior samples and the latter containing the posterior sample mean and standard deviation.
Pixelation in the spatial domain
The sky sphere is pixelated following the HEALPix 'RING' scheme with a NSIDE of 128. This pixelation is used throughout all energy bins.
Pixelation in the spectral (energy) domain
The energy dimension is pixelated as a regular grid on a logarithmic energy scale. The energy bin boundaries are the same for both reconstructions and are stored in the file 'energy_bins.hdf5'.
A note on summary statistics
The posterior mean and standard deviations contained in the HDF5 files are calculated directly from the posterior samples as given. However, for many analyses, it is more appropriate to use the mean and standard deviation on a logarithmic scale, which need to be computed from the given samples.
