Description

Our understanding of the diversity of variability behavior in young stellar objects has expanded greatly over the past decade. This is due to the plethora of time domain surveys that have covered various parts of the cadence, duration, and wavelength parameter space.

This poster summarizes recent findings concerning ``regular” low-state variability in young stars, as well as the more dramatic accretion outbursts that mark entry into a ``high-state" accretion phase, as exhibited by EX Lup, V1647 Ori, or FU Ori type sources.

We also showcase some new examples of likely FU Ori stars in which the actual outburst was not captured photometrically, but the current spectroscopic presentation points to the object's membership in this rare class.

Finally, there is advertisement of recent collaborative research on: X-rays in FU Ori stars, and use of diffuse interstellar bands to estimate extinction toward YSOs.
