Description

Eupogonius tomentosus (Haldeman, 1847); Desmiphorini

Distribution: S outhern PQ to south FL to eastern TX to southern MN. Kentucky collections were from the central part of the state (Map 060).

Months: July (2), nr (2)

Collections (3 records, 4 specimens): CNHM (2), EGCCRC (1), PDBC (1)

Collection methods: Blacklight trap (1); Malaise trap (1)

Larval host plants: Diospyros virginiana and Pinus spp. (Monné & Nearns 2022d)

Comments: Attracted to lights. Beating dead pine and spruce branches can yield specimens (Bousquet et al. 2017).
