Recognition and The Public Sphere
Authors/Creators
Description
In this essay, I will look at the concept of recognition and its importance in today's society. I will examine the different approaches to this concept and its various critiques. I also want to focus on recognition in the "freedom of expression" and its relationship with recognition. Should hate speech groups be recognized and be free to express racism? Suppose recognition is a necessary principle for individual identity, self-actualization, self-esteem, justice, and sympathy toward all minorities and various group identities; then, what is the solution for those who present themselves as racist, and all sorts of anti-es and phobias groups, like neo-Nazis, anti-Semitics, homophobic, Islamophobia, etc?
