Anti- bias Education in English Language Teaching: Unpacking Textbooks, Packing a New Suitcase

The first pages of the curriculum used in eastern Switzerland call for humanitarian and democratic values, contexts, and content on all school levels and in every school subject, thereby including the EFL classroom. Tools such as the Dispositions for  Culturally Responsive Pedagogy Scale and the Teaching Tolerance Social Justice Framework belong in the hands of current and future teachers for awareness- raising and planning and are described here with the larger aim of integrating clear anti- bias perspectives into EFL lessons.
