Multi-variant analysis of domestic water demand. Application to Seville Municipality, Spain (in Spanish)

he study was based on the development of a methodology applying multivariate linear regression models to analyze a range of factors that influence domestic water demand. To achieve this purpose; an analysis was carried out from a general theoretical perspective and, at the same time, a comprehensive empirical and quantitative assessment. The result produced a methodology to identify, quantify and explain the sub-municipal differences in domestic water consumption, at census tract level, in the city of Seville for the year 2009. Using statistics, it was found that domestic water demand is not distributed homogeneously in the municipality of Seville. After considering a total of 16 variables in the statistical model, we found notable differences in household consumption between different sectors of the city.
