Brumptomyia hamata (Fairchild & Hertig, 1947)

hamata Fairchild & Hertig, 1947a: 614 (as Phlebotomus (Brumptomyia) hamatus). Type locality: Panama, Chilibre, bat caves Chilibrillo; Canal Zone, Cruces Trail, Madden Dam highway; Chorrera.

Brumptomyia hamata (Fairchild & Hertig): Forattini (1973), Martins et al. (1978), Young (1979, taxonomy), Ibáñez-Bernal (1999, taxonomy), Ibáñez-Bernal (2000a, taxonomy), Ibáñez-Bernal et al. (2015, Chiapas records), Lozano-Sardaneta et al. (2020, bar-coding, Veracruz records).

General distribution. Belize, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru (Shimabukuro et al., 2017), Galati (2018, species list and distribution by country), Galati (2021, classification, keys).

Distribution in Mexico. Campeche (Ibáñez-Bernal 2000a, b; Rebollar-Téllez et al. 1996), Chiapas (IbáñezBernal et al. 2015), Quintana Roo (May-Uc et al. 2011), Veracruz (Lozano-Sardaneta et al. 2020), Yucatán (Montes de Oca-Aguilar et al. 2013a).
