Description
During war, teachers and children both struggle through immense trauma. In this time of enhanced struggles, it is critical teachers concern themselves with effectively managing classrooms of often-traumatized children who have a right to a quality education. In developing personal resilience theories teachers were able to move out of a paralyzed position that is typical of crisis and the immediate posttraumatic period and move into active coping. Teachers are given an opportunity to explore in a safe and supportive environment their feelings, beliefs, attitudes, and practice, as they relate to coping with traumatic events in the classroom.
