P. chrysanthemi is a pathogen that infects plants of the genus Chrysanthemum sp. From its first detection in 1998 until 2017, the presence of P. chrysanthemi was found in several locations across 4 countries. The pathogen appeared in Germany, which, along with the Netherlands, is a leader in the production of plant material for further cultivation and export. The probability of penetration into Poland without phytosanitary measures is therefore high. Particularly at risk are greenhouse crops, where there is an elevated temperature corresponding to the optimal temperature for the development of this species. The probability of damage to field crops is low. However, climate change may facilitate the establishment of P. chrysanthemi in the PRA area. The pathogen can be confused with other species of the genus Phytophthora that infect chrysanthemums and produce similar disease symptoms.

Probability of spread: low, but as a result of climate change, the pathogen may appear in field crops and gardens, in which case its spread will increase.
The primary phytosanitary measure is the control of plant material from areas where the pathogen occurs.
