Profesor Walery Goetel w wyznaczaniu obszarów chronionych na granicy polsko-czechosłowackiej u zarania państwowości polskiej w XX wieku

This article aims to present in a chronological order the wide and varied activities of Professor Walery Goetel for the establishment of borderland national parks in the Pieniny and Tatra Mountains, and in the massif of Babia Góra. Countless contacts and meetings with politicians and scientists from Poland and Czechoslovakia, conferences, dozens of lectures and papers on borderland parks, and finally mediating the purchase of estates in the Tatra and Pieniny Mountains by the State, to mention the main aspects of the scientist’s activity, show the magnitude of the work Goetel put into making borderland national parks a reality.
