Description

New-onset diabetes in youth can classically fall into three categories: type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, or monogenic diabetes. Type B insulin resistance syndrome and ketosis-prone atypical diabetes are additionally described in the African population, but their incidence in the pediatric population is minimal. Some rare cases are even more complex and do not fall into a specific category, so management is challenging. In this study, we report the case of a complex form of a reversible diabetes subtype.
