Reinforcement and creation of collaboration networks to enhance joint research
Description
In this poster, new ways of creating collaborations with other scientific institutions and getting additional research funding are described.
In order to improve the knowledge of the recruited trainees in the GasMEMS network, annual summer workshops are being organized in which external outstanding experts are invited as plenary speakers. Sharing information with scientists external to the network leads to a great opportunity for expanding the network knowledge as well as generating new contacts in other institutions for future collaborations.
Additionally, as a scientific network is already established, the opportunities of new funding opportunities to reinforce the joint research increase. Recently, The University of Limerick and the University of Toulouse successfully applied and obtained an Ulysses grant for the collaboration between the two institutions. In this grant application funding was sought for a joint exchange between both groups to jointly work on global and local measurements of single and multi-species. The outcome of this additional grant will be joint publications targeted at International Microfluidics Conferences, with targeted submissions to leading Journals in the field. Besides, co-operation between INSA and UL will be enhanced on the common theme of Gas Microfluidics, demonstrated through Early Stage Research exchanges, and reciprocal faculty visits
