Description

Channel simulation data generated by the FESOM2 ocean model. LEITH uses a Leith viscosity parameterization and KBACK a kinematic backscatter eddy parameterization. Includes u and v velocities for 10 years (first year should be excluded due to spin up) as well as u and v dissipation tendencies via Leith viscosity (for LEITH) or both backscatter and dissipation tendencies of the kinematic backscatter parameterization (KBACK).

Notes

This data is a contribution to projects M3, L4, S1, and S2 of the Collaborative Research Centre TRR 181 "Energy Transfer in Atmosphere and Ocean" funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) under Project 274762653. The computational resources were supplied by the supercomputing facilities at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven.
