Ropalidia nigrior Richards, 1978: 55 (nest), 59 (list), 63 (key), 113, 128 (key), Fig. 45, female, nest (in subgenus Icarielia) - “ Queensland Q3, Iron Range” (Canberra); also from two other localities; and New Guinea (probably). - Cardale, 1985: 217 (in subgenus Icarielia; cat.). - Naumann, 1993, in Naumann et al.: 180 (distr.). - Kojima, 1996b: 328 (holotype label data). - Kojima and Carpenter, 1997a: 43 (cat.). - Kojima, 1999b: 376 (note on holotype); 1999c: 383 (key), 388 (distr.), Figs 52, 54. - Nugroho et al., 2012 [2011]: 157 (list).
Distribution: NE coastal, N Gulf; Qld.; possibly also in New Guinea.
