Ropalidia elegantula Richards, 1978: 53 (nest), 61, 64 (key), 70, Figs 16, 23, 37, female, male, nest (in subgenus Icariola) - “ Queensland Q3, Cape York Peninsula, Bamaga” (holotype female Canberra); also from seven other localities in Queensland. - Cardale, 1985: 214 (in subgenus Icariola; cat.). - Naumann, 1993, in Naumann et al.: 179 (distr.). - Kojima & Carpenter, 1997a: 20 (cat.). - Kojima, 1999b: 369, Figs 15–16 (Qld.); 1999c: 380 (key), 384 (distr.), Figs 14, 22–24, 26. - Saito & Kojima, 2005a: 180; Figs 1–6 (in stigma group; Qld.).
