HoloWrist: Holographic Skeletons for Wrist Surgery

Description

A surgeon's most crucial task when repairing a broken scaphoid bone is to bring it back together and screw it into place accurately. Wrist anatomy is complex, so the surgeon needs a comprehensive view of wrist bones. X-ray imaging is one of the most convenient ways to do this, but it can't be used repeatedly because it is harmful to humans. In addition, the surgeon receives 2D information from the x-ray imaging, which makes it difficult for him or her to interpret the information in 3D for the patient's wrist. The purpose of the project is to accurately display a hologram of a patient's wrist bones on the patient themselves using augmented reality technology.
