Description
This dataset is obtained from an experimental campaign on stiffened column bases. Stiffened connections refer to a configuration with vertical stiffeners welded on top of the base plate; consequently, the required plate thickness is reduced. Stiffened connections are the current practice of countries in which supplying the thick plates is challenging, and welding procedures cost reasonable. Prior research on stiffened column bases is modest; this project seeks to provide reliable evidence for their performance. Dataset documents the results of experiments on four prototypes with stiffened column bases subjected to pure bending. A horizontal actuator applies the lateral displacements on the column top to simulate the seismic excitation. Variables are the number of anchor rods row, construction approach, and base plate thickness.
