Authors/Creators
Description
In the Yorùbá conception, Èṣù (Exu) is the deity responsible for generating chaos, order, disorder, and, according to oral indications, adopted heterodox behaviors when compared to the other Òrìṣàs (Orixás), being syncretized with Saban. Based on this fact, historical analysis will be carried out, following the historiographical methodology, about demonization in Brazil and Nigeria, the favoring of Satanization in the propagation of religious and ethnic racism, making - consequently - in an analysis about the optics of a former priestess, descendant of one of the oldest families-of-saint of Rio de Janeiro, about the potency. The text proposes new reflections about the messenger deity of the two worlds (Èṣù) in the religious plurality of the Candomblés in Rio de Janeiro, through the interview of an excellent and respectful religious, a descendant of Cipriano Abedé Candomblé. It is worth remembering that the Cipriano Abedé terreiro, in the memory of the venerable Professor and Oluwo Agenor Miranda (2002), was one of the first to be established on fluminense soil. Not to mention, in addition, its importance on Bahian soil.
