Carollia subrufa (Hahn, 1905). Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 18:247.

TYPE LOCALITY: Mexico, Oaxaca, NW Tapanatepec, Sta. Efigenia.

DISTRIBUTION: Jalisco (Mexico) to NW Nicaragua; Guyana.

COMMENTS: Not a subspecies of castanea; see Pine (1972).
