Development of an Entrepreneurship model using the design thinking approach and emotional intelligence for sustainable wellness

India has become increasingly entrepreneurial in recent years. Entrepreneurship is a driving force in finding a source of income for an unemployed group. At the same time, it is a significant force driving the Indian economy. Usually, the business profession is looked upon as merely profit-oriented. Every entrepreneur should set their objectives by outlining acceptable behavior in the form of business ethics and coming up with the product that their consumers want rather than creating unnecessary demand in the minds of consumers for products that they genuinely do not need in their lives. An entrepreneur should be innovative at the same time; they should have a humanitarian attitude to serve the society in which they function. Entrepreneurs should design their products/services by emotionally connecting to their customers.
Methods: This study attempts to develop a model by integrating the design thinking approach and emotional intelligence to encourage positive entrepreneurial attitudes among existing and budding entrepreneurs, which will lead to sustainable performance. The model considered the five steps of the design thinking approach empathizing, design, ideate, prototype, and test. The model enables the connection between the five design thinking stages and the components of emotional intelligence they are emotional awareness, self-assessment, self- confidence,self control, trustworthiness, conscientiousness, adaptability, empathy and conflict resolution. Both design thinking and emotional intelligence will help attain an entrepreneurial attitude, which includes components like: 1) attitude towards business startup; 2) attitude towards marketing; 3) attitude towards the recording of finance; 4) attitude towards communication; 5) attitude towards leadership; and 6) attitude towards problem-solving. Data was collected from the general public who expressed their interest in entrepreneurship. Following data filtering, structural equation modeling was used to examine 601 valid replies.
