Dologale Thomas, 1926. Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 9, 17: 183.

TYPE SPECIES: Crossarchus dybowskii Pousargues, 1893, by original designation.

COMMENTS: Revised by Hayman (1936). Although originally placed in Crossarchus, most since Hayman (1936) believed this genus to be the sister group to Helogale; Allen (1924) identified some specimens of this taxon as Helogale hirtula robusta.
