Funambulus pennantii Wroughton, 1905. J. Bombay Nat. Hist. Soc., 16:411.

TYPE LOCALITY: "Mandvi Taluka of Surat District," Guzerath (= Gudjerat), India.

DISTRIBUTION: SE Iran through Pakistan to Nepal and N and C India. Perhaps adjacent Afghanistan.

SYNONYMS: argentescens Wroughton, 1905; lutescens Wroughton, 1916.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Prasadsciurus (Moore and Tate, 1965:71). Reviewed by Agrawal and Chakraborty (1979).
