Notomys mitchellii

Description

Notomys mitchellii (Ogilby, 1838). Lond. Edinb. Philos. Mag. J. Sci., 12:96.

TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, Victoria, about 12 km southeast of Lake Boga (see Mahoney and Richardson, 1988:169).

DISTRIBUTION: Australia; S Western Australia, S South Australia, and W Victoria (see map and discussion in Watts and Aslin, 1981:118); once occurred in SW New South Wales, but is now apparently extinct there (Mahoney and Richardson, 1988:170).

SYNONYMS: alutacea, gouldi, macropus, richardsonii.
