Mus kasaicus

Description

Mus kasaicus (Cabrera, 1924). Boi. Real. Soc. Espanola Hist. Nat., Madrid, 24:222.

TYPE LOCALITY: Zaire, Kasai, St. Joseph de Kananga (Luluabourg).

DISTRIBUTION: Recorded only from the vicinity of the type locality.

COMMENTS: Subgenus Nannomys. Now treated as a distinct species belonging to the M. sorella group (Petter, 1981b), but its relationship to that species needs to be assessed in a careful revision of the M. sorella complex (see account of the latter).
