Gerbillus mackillingini

Description

Gerbillus mackillingini (Thomas, 1904). Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., ser. 7, 14:158.

TYPE LOCALITY: Egypt, Wadi Alagai, eastern desert of Nubia.

DISTRIBUTION: E desert of S Egypt (see Osborn and Helmy, 1980) and probably adjacent Sudan.

COMMENTS: Although some authors have placed this species with G. nanus (see references in Lay, 1983), Osborn and Helmy (1980) demonstrated its specific distinction.
