TYPE LOCALITY: Brazil, Amazonas, Borba, on lower Rio Madeira (= "Amazon River").

DISTRIBUTION: Colombia, S Venezuela, Surinam, N Brazil, Peru.

STATUS: Common in many areas.

SYNONYMS: caudata.

COMMENTS: Reviewed by J. A. Allen (1915a:625).
