Type locality: Sikkim, Calcutta [Kolkata]
Distribution. Indian records: Sikkim, Calcutta (Hampson 1899c). Global records: Vietnam: Borneo (Hampson 1918b), Tonkin (de Joannis 1930).
Remark: Monoctenocera was established by Hampson (1899c: 310) as subgenus of Polyocha Zeller, 1848a. The single included nominal species was brachiella Hampson (1899c: 311), a nomen nudum later made available in the combination Monoctenocera brachiella Hampson in Ragonot & Hampson, 1901, when Monoctenocera was raised to genus level (Fletcher & Nye 1984).
