Nyctophilus gouldi 'Tomes, 1858. Proc. Zool. Soc. Lond., 1858:31.

TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, Queensland, Moreton Bay.

DISTRIBUTION: S.E. Queensland; E. New South Wales; S. Victoria; Tasmania.

COMMENT: May include Tasmanian records from Ride, 1970:164, of timoriensis and sherrini (FRA). If gouldi is separated from timoriensis, then it should probably include bifax (KFK). See also Hall and Richards, 1979, Bats of Eastern Australia, Queensl. Mus., Booklet, 12.
