TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., South Dakota, mouth of Big Sioux River.

DISTRIBUTION: Baja California and Sonora to N. Tamaulipas (Mexico); W. U.S. A, (to Minnesota); W. Canada; Alaskan Panhandle (U.S.A.).

PROTECTED STATUS: U.S. ESA - Endangered as O. h. cedrosensis subspecies only.
