COMMENT: Dromiciops was placed in this otherwise fossil family by Kirsch, 1977, in Hunsaker, ed., The Biology of the Marsupials, pp. 1 -50. Also see Marshall, 1978, Mamm. Species, 99:1, who included the Microbiotheriinae as a subfamily of the Didelphidae.
