Description
Cryptomys hottentotus (Lesson, 1826). Zool., 1:166.
TYPE LOCALITY: South Africa, S.W. Cape Prov., near Paarl (east of Capetown).
DISTRIBUTION: South Africa to Tanzania, S. Zaire, and Namibia.
COMMENT: Includes bocagei, damarensis, darlingi, holosericeus, and natalensis; see de Graaff, 1975, Part 6.9:3-4.
ISIS NUMBER: 5301410032002006001 as C. hottentotus.
