TYPE LOCALITY: India.

DISTRIBUTION: Transcaucasus; Asia Minor; Israel; Arabia to S. Kazakhstan (U.S. S.R.) and India; Sri Lanka; Tibet (China).

COMMENT: Citation based on Smellie's Buffon, 1781, 7: pl. 206. Gromov and Baranova, 1981: 102, employed the name leucura for this species without reference to Kerr, 1792.
