Description

Dipodomys venustus (Merriam, 1904). Proc. Biol. Soc. Wash., 17: 142.

TYPE LOCALITY: U.S.A., California, Santa Cruz Co., Santa Cruz.

DISTRIBUTION: From San Francisco Bay to Estero Bay (W.C. California, U.S.A.).

COMMENT: Revised by Grinnell, 1922, Univ. Calif. Publ. Zool., 29:1 -124. May be conspecific with elephantinus (TLB); see comment under elephantinus; also see Hall, 1981:576. May be conspecific with agilis (DFW).
