Talk given in the course Bilingualism from a linguistic, cognitive and pedagogical point of view organised at the University of Granada together with the Centro Mediterráneo. The objective was to introduce certain myths and misconceptaions about the phenomenon of bilingualism and discuss them in the light of current research.
