Description

Euwallacea bryanti (Sampson, 1919) comb. nov.

Xyleborus bryanti Sampson, 1919: 110.

Remarks. The holotype and paratype (NHMUK) were examined. The species is transferred to Euwallacea because of the following combination of characters: pronotum quadrate with conspicuous lateral corners and sides parallel in dorsal view (type 4); protibiae distinctly triangular; posterolateral margin of elytra carinate; pronotal disc alutaceous; elytral declivity sparsely setose; scutellum flush with elytra and flat; and mycangial tufts absent.

Distribution. East Malaysia.
