(Figs. 41–42)

Psephidonus aokii Watanabe, 1972: 111; Watanabe 1985: 267, 1990: 291

<?!> Psephidonus aokii: Li 1993: 19

Geodromicus aokii: Herman 2001: 291

Type material examined: JAPAN: HOKKAIDO PREFECTURE: Holotype ♂ [Specimen without right antennomeres 6–11, with slightly damaged abdomen between abdominal tergites VII and VIII; aedeagus is missing]: ‘ ♂ ’ <handwritten>, ‘north cirque’ <handwritten>, ‘Mt. Poroshiri-dake | Hidaka, Hokkaido | July – 26 [handwritten], 1971 | Y.WATANABE leg.’ <printed>, ‘ Holotype | Psephidonus | aokii Y.Watanabe | 1972’ <pink, handwritten>, ‘NSMT-I-C | 41223’ <rectangular label with black frame, printed>, ‘ Geodromicus | aokii Watanabe, 1972 | Shavrin A.V. det. 2016’ <printed> (NSMT).

Additional material examined. JAPAN: HOKKAIDO PREFECTURE: 1 ♂: ‘ Aizankei Mt. Daisetsuzan Hokkaido 18.vii.1953 Y. Kurosawa’ (NSMT); 1 ♂: ‘(Mt. KURO-DAKE) in Mts. Taisetsu Hokkaido, Japan VIII-23. 1978 Coll. N. Yasuda’, ‘ 1978. 8. 23 | Mt. Kuro (1800)’ (cW).

Distribution. The species is known known from several localities in Hokkaido, Japan.

Remarks. Psephidonus aokii was originally described from Hidaka mountains, Hokkaido, Japan. Watanabe (1990) redescribed it and provided additional faunistic data from Hokkaido. The species was recorded by Li (1993) from Liaoning, China: ”riverbanks at the Changbai Mt., Liaoning, and Huangtu Mt. of Dashiqiao City” (translation from Chinese by Z.-W. Yin), but this record is most likely a result of misidentification. Aedeagus as in Figs. 41– 42.
