Description

Stream physicochemistry sampled during 2019 at La Antigua Watershed, Mexico. Streams were selected to form three scenarios, streams with (1) an upstream reach draining forest followed by a pasture reach, (2) an upstream reach in pasture followed by a forest reach, and (3) an upstream forest reach followed by coffee plantations. Stream physicochemistry was determined at three points: the upstream and downstream reaches, and at the middle point between land uses. Sampling was conducted during the dry (March-April), transition (June), and wet (October) seasons of 2019. We measured temperature, dissolved oxygen, conductivity, and pH. A water sample was collected for total suspended solids, alkalinity, silica, chlorides, sulfates, sodium, and potassium. Nutrients included ammonium, nitrate, nitrite, dissolved inorganic nitrogen, and total phosphorus and reactive phosphorus. We measured benthic and suspended organic matter, and chlorophyll a concentrations.
