Los archivos orales de Koolhaas. El papel epistemológico del maratón de entrevistas = The Koolhaas oral archives. The epistemological role of the interview marathon

Rem Koolhaas es, ante todo, un entrevistador. Sus maratones de entrevistas contribuyen a su producción arquitectónica como manera de trabajar, de pensar y de especular. Plantea estos formatos como archivos para expandir la noción de entrevista como una forma significativa de conocimiento. Son archivos orales que forman parte de la historia oral de la arquitectura, una disciplina muy poco teorizada y sin apenas conceptualización de la entrevista arquitectónica. La maratoniana labor entrevistadora de Koolhaas es un vehículo de producción de pensamiento crítico donde utiliza sus entrevistas con una función práctica, teórica y crítica; y con ello contribuye a la comprensión del valor ensayístico, instrumental y especulativo de la transmisión oral como estrategia proyectual en sí misma.

Koolhaas comprende el pulso de los cambios a través de sus entrevistados y realiza un gran esfuerzo por averiguar cómo podrá ser la arquitectura si las condiciones fabricadas por el neoliberalismo la hacen irrelevante. Esta cuestión es crucial en el momento presente: la mezcla de tratar de revisitar mediante entrevistas lo que ha pasado recodificándolo y lo que está pasando leído desprejuiciadamente, intelectualizándolo como forma epistemológica y que sea una herramienta para poder trabajar con problemas acuciantes que nos permitan afrontar el futuro con una posición crítica.

Koolhaas is, above all, an interviewer. His interviews contribute to his architectural production as a way of working, thinking and speculating. He approaches these formats as archives to expand the notion of the interview as a meaningful form of knowledge. They are oral archives that are part of the oral history of architecture, a discipline very little theorized and with hardly any conceptualization of the architectural interview. Koolhaas' marathon interviewing work is a vehicle for the production of critical thought where he uses his interviews with a practical, theoretical and critical function; and with this he contributes to the understanding of the essayistic, instrumental and speculative value of oral transmission as a projectual strategy in itself.

Koolhaas understands the pulse of change through his interviewees and makes a great effort to find out what architecture will be like if the conditions fabricated by neoliberalism make it irrelevant. This question is crucial in the present moment: the mixture of trying to revisit through interviews what has happened by recoding it and what is happening read unprejudiced, intellectualizing it as an epistemological form and as a tool to be able to work with pressing problems that allow us to face the future with a critical position.
