Richardiidae Loew 1868

Description

Richardiidae

This family of predominantly Neotropical acalyptrate flies contains 177 species (Marshall 2012, Evenhuis & Pape 2020). Rondani (1848b) described two species from South America, considered as valid, in the genus Richardia (Steyskal 1968c). The type material of Richardia unifasciata has presumably been lost; the holotype of Richardia laterina is in the MZUN.
