Description
This work aims at assessing the vibration levels of whole body vibrations due to exercises on vibration plates. Measurements are developed on three different commercial vibration plates with two subjects of different MBI in order to verify the relation between acceleration, frequency and subject mass in the same exercise routine. Each plate is evaluated according to their use and the acceleration obtained in each exercise routine was then compiled for the simulation of 20 minutes daily exposure. Each routine was confronted with the curves that determine the daily exposure limit values in accordance with ISO 2631-1 (1997) in order to classify the potential health risks that the exposure to vibration can offer. The results show that the use of the platforms must be careful because there is no precise control that can accurately specify the vibration levels. It is also noticed that for fixed values of vibration levels in the exi sting device controls, the measured acceleration values varies with subject mass. In general, for the analyzed exercises routines and exposure times, according to the ISO 2631-1(1997) there are, in a long-term use, a high potential risk to health.
