NFDI4Chem: Towards a better management of environmental chemistry data

Description

Background

NFDI4Chem aims to digitalize all key steps in chemical research. Research data management (RDM) in environmental chemistry (and toxicology) is currently not organized systematically and separated solutions in institutions lead to low visibility, accessibility, and usability of research results [1]. The NORMAN Association [2] collects different kind of environmental data, but the databases and repositories do not integrate the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR) principles yet. An exception is MassBank [3].

Goals

The first goal of this poster is to demonstrate the current possibilities to share environmental chemistry data under FAIR principles.

The second goal is to facilitate the discussion towards a better management of environmental chemistry data and how we can improve the visibility of our discipline in the chemistry science.
