Current status. Junior objective synonym of Typophorus Chevrolat, 1836 (see MONRÓS & BECHYNÉ 1956, SEENO & WILCOX 1982, RILEY et al. 2003).
Comments. Hydrotica Gistel, 1848 was proposed as an unnecessary new replacement name for Typophorus Chevrolat, 1836 (GISTEL 1848a).
