Document pertaining to the incumbent of the Chishtī shrine at Dhār.
Notes
- Dating: This document, like EAP1416-13, is not dated but is addressed to Ināyat sāhab. He appears in the lineage of Kamāl al-Dīn (EAP1416-33) and is called Ināyat al-Pīrzāda in a document of one his successors dated 1893 CE (EAP1416-01); he was a cousin of Luṭfullāh (لطف الله), the author of Autobiography of Lutfullah : a Mohammedan Gentleman and his Transactions with his Fellow-creatures, 3rd ed., edited by Edward Eastwich (London: Smith, Elder and Co., 1858). This suggests a date range between c. 1860 and c. 1890 CE.
- Summary: This is an entreaty ('अर्ज़ी Pers. 'arz̤ī, عرضی) addressed to Ināyat sāhab. It begins by petitioner placing his full faith in the hands of the former and appeals to him for redress in certain matters which will be explained in writing by a certain Ghāśi Bhāī.
- Note: The accompanying document has not been located, so the substance of the appeal is not known, however EAP1416-13 suggests it may concern matters arising from a loan.
