FORMATION OF COMPOUND WORDS IN PHRASEOLOGY IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

It is known that compound words are among the lexical units that enrich the vocabulary of the language and embody the various interpretations of events in the external world. In the process of creating a compound word, the specific aspects and signs of the thing-subject, event, which are the basis for differentiation, are highlighted separately or the purpose of expressing different logical relations is envisaged. The study of the cognitive basis of compound words characteristic of different languages helps clarify the issue of the external world and its verbal expression, the relationship between language and thought, at the same time, it raises the problem of the cognitive approach to the study of compound words in linguistics. emits The study of compound words on the example of English and Uzbek languages shows that this problem is extremely relevant for cognitive linguistics in cross-sectional aspect.
