Leucinocrambus malgassellus Viette, 1960: 152.

Imago (fig. 8): Description translated from original. Wingspan 24 mm. Antennae yellowish grey, with tufts of erect black tipped scales on the flagellum. Maxillary palpus yellowish white, with apex black dorsally. Labial palpus black with a few yellowish black scales. Head and patagium white, tegulae white with yellowish tips. Metanotum yellowish white and abdomen yellowish grey. Underside of body and legs white. Terminal line black, fringe white. Forewing white, with a basal and antemidian fascia preceded by an antemedian area yellowish grey. Reniform spot in the disc. Postmedian fascia blackish grey becoming reddish brown between Cu 1b and the anal vein.

Hindwing white with ante- and postmedian fascias continued from those of the forewing. Anal angle much suffused ochreous grey. Terminal line and fringe as in forewing.

Underside white, with fascias marked by reticulate black ends, the postmedian line of the hindwing begins on the costa with a rust brown mark with black scales.

Female genitalia: not examined.

Diagnosis: Wingshape similar to G. lactealis but apical area of forewing much suffused with reddish brown.

Life history: not known.

Distribution: Madagascar.
