The article is devoted to the emergence and activity of the Voronezh branch of the All–Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments in the first years of its existence. The study reveals the reasons for the emergence of the Society, characterize the main tasks and directions of its work at the initial stage.
