Description
The results of our study indicate that, to date, women are clearly at a disadvantage in editorial committees in the area of Information Science and Library Science, at least in the variables that have been analysed. According to the data obtained, women are not only less present in journals indexed in higher quartiles, but are also less present in general, since it is more common for the same male editor to be on several committees than for a woman. In addition, if the journal is also indexed in the SCIE, the presence of women is lower, which is in line with the lower presence of women in the area of STEM in general, a fact that has been highlighted on several occasions.
