Economic reforms started in 1991 in India, but in agriculture sector new economic policy initiated after
some years. There have been a rising trend in foodgrains production and productivity. But slow growth
rate in foodgrains production and productivity. There were almost stagnant in increase in area under
foodgrains cultivation. There are high potential in foodgrains productivity enhancement.
