Nonuniformit Of Properties And Phase Coexistence In A Yukawa Monolayer
Description
In many works, the theory of melting of a dusty plasma monolayer is formulated for the extended and spatially uniform systems. We develop the theory of melting for finite monolayer systems which are stable due to the action of electrostatic confinement. Both the case of equilibrium melting and the case of non-equilibrium MCI-induced melting are considered. It is shown that the process of melting in these cases is generally nonuniform. Possibility of phase coexistence is demonstrated in a wide range of system parameters. In the poster, both cases are discussed.
