Description
Starlight polarization by intervening dust grains is helpful for understanding the dust properties. Combining the starlight polarization with distance information is useful for studying the dust distribution along the line of sight. We observed, from 1.2 m telescope of PRL using EMCCD based polarimeter, a distant open cluster; Czernik 3 present in 2nd Galactic quadrant We make use of distance 'rpgeo' from Gaia EDR3 to study the dust distribution along Czernik 3 in 3 arcmin as well as in 15o wide field. In small-scale region we found two dust layers at ~1 kpc and ~3.4 kpc and by studying the large-scale dust distribution in 15o region around Czernik 3, we speculate the presence of inter-arm region containing less dust contents between the Local arm and Perseus arm.
